As I’m writing this, it’s a few days after Christmas and it’s pouring down rain. We’re just a few days from another calendar year. I launched Gluten-Free Spirited on March 31, 2017. What a ride it’s been so far. Thank you to my readers that have been here since Day 1 and those that have joined in the days since. My goal has always been to provide information for those with dietary restrictions and to their family and friends. We don’t recommend foods and restaurants we don’t like ourselves. Authenticity is something Gluten-Free Spirited strives for. If we don’t like something, we’ll tell you. Nikki recently said that the blog’s tagline should be “We don’t eat gross things.” lol She’s been through quite a few trial and errors on her journey and had plenty of gross food.

Since year end reviews generally include lists, I’m going to post the five most read blogposts of 2018. There were a few blogposts from last year’s list that came up, but I decided to include the ones from 2018 (save for one that is from last year, but didn’t make 2017’s list) An interesting note: I get a lot of comments on social media related to recipe blogs. For those of you that took my marketing research survey a few weeks ago, thank you! According to a lot of the feedback, readers want more recipes. I definitely plan on more recipes in the coming year. However, the most read posts are all restaurant recommendations.
Without further ado, I present 2018’s most popular blogposts.
Popular Blogposts
5. Midwood Smokehouse– Full disclosure: this is my favorite restaurant
4. Showmars– This post was written last year, but became popular this year.
3. Wahlburgers– A Charlotte location was announced last year, but there still isn’t one.
2. Bad Daddy’s Burgers– They have a wide variety of burgers that go beyond the standard.
1. Wayback Burgers– This chain continues to expand; hopefully their options for customers with dietary restrictions expand with it.
Recipes
Even though they didn’t crack the top five most read blogposts, here are a few of the recipes we made this year. As always, our recipes are easy and use as few ingredients as possible.
Blondies– This recipe is also vegan.
Travel
We did get some traveling in this year. Here are some photos from Atlanta and Chicago.
