Landmark Diner has been a staple in my life since my childhood. Their website doesn’t have the exact year it opened, but the owners say they were the first to bring Greek style diner to Charlotte.
Landmark Diner is one of the few places that stay open late in the city. They open daily at 6 AM. During the week, the close at 1 AM. On Fridays, they’re open until 3 AM and on the weekends, they don’t close until 4 AM. Since it’s one of the only establishments open after the bars close, it’s usually packed late at night.
Back in 2010, Landmark Diner was featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives”. You can get an idea of what its like along with Guy trying a signature dish here.
A couple weeks ago, Nikki & I met our dad after a late night at an event. We arrived after 11 on a Friday night and it was pretty full. After midnight, they had a bit of a rush and the place was packed. I think that’s pretty standard for them.

Do you need options? Look no further. Landmark serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. The menu offers a wide variety from breakfast to burgers to seafood to Italian and Greek fare. Craving something sinfully sweet? As soon as you enter the restaurant, you’ll see a large display filled with all kinds of decadence.
We now know that they have options for patrons with dietary restrictions. After asking several questions, Nikki was able to find something she can have. Note: Landmark does cook in soy. They also don’t use separate fryers, so cross contamination can occur.
She ordered a burger sans bun, but still had a few toppings. Since she couldn’t have their fries, she opted for a salad with Ken’s Italian dressing.
As you can see, they mistakenly sent out Nikki’s order with fries and onion rings. Caine & I ate the fries. She brought the onion rings to our mom (who later ate them on her own burger). The tomato went to our dad and I consumed the pickle.

Since Nikki had to cut gluten, dairy, and soy from her diet, we haven’t been to any Italian restaurants. This is sad for me since Italian food is my favorite. I had recently talked about how I missed tortellini, ziti, and stuffed shells. As soon as we sat down, I remembered they had manicotti. I considered not ordering it because it was so late, but I can’t remember the last time I had manicotti. Since I had Nikki’s fries, I only ate a small amount of the manicotti and finished it for dinner the next day. I’m very glad that I decided to order it because it was so yummy.
Our dad had the Cheeseburger Deluxe. He really liked it.
Though she to remove a lot from her order, Nikki really liked their food a lot. She’s always glad to add new restaurants to the mix, especially one we’ve eaten at since our childhood.

Dietary restrictions are so common these days it’s nice to see there are restaurants out there to accommodate them. I am a vegetarian and can’t eat fried food for example.
I can imagine that’s pretty difficult too. We’re always happy to find nee restaurants that can accommodate my sister’s dietary needs.
