Don’t you just hate when you’re hungry & realize you haven’t been to the store yet? Rather than going to the store and buying everything you see (or maybe you just want to avoid the store all together), you make the executive decision to rummage through the cabinets. Being the experimental chef (e.g.-starving) you are, you throw together ingredients & make a masterpiece (something edible). This scenario happened here recently. I have for you a meal that’s quick, easy, & dietary-restriction friendly.
In the cabinets, we found DeBoles spaghetti noodles, Mueller’s Gluten Free Elbow noodles, & Field Day organic tomato basil sauce. Each box of noodles were about half full. The DeBoles noodles are made of brown rice, while the Mueller’s are made with corn flour and rice flour. Both types of noodles are gluten-, dairy-, & soy-free (DeBoles has the fancy certification Gluten-Free Certification Organization). Both brands of noodles are cholesterol- & saturated fat-free. Mueller’s is also sodium-free. The tomato sauce is also cholesterol-, trans-, and saturated-fat free.
The hamburger meat had been laid out earlier in the day. Yay for thinking ahead (soft of)! Of course, this can be meatless if you prefer. I’m not about that life.

Directions:
*Noodles
-Boil both packages of noodles for 14 minutes.
-Drain the noodles before running cold water over them quickly.
-Drain again.
*Meat (optional, but really good with noodles)
-Cook as directed. (I told you this was easy)
-Add in tomato sauce.
After both the meat and noodles have been cooked throughly, combine them. Some of you rebels may wish to add the sauce after combining the main ingredients; you do you. Either way: you now have a quick, easy, dietary-restriction friendly meal. You welcome.

**Disclaimer: Nikki didn’t eat this meal as she was petsitting. My mom & I enjoyed this meal very much! For some reason, Mueller’s hurts Nikki’s stomach.**
Pro tip: Someone observed that this would pair well with wine. We didn’t have any as we had not been to the store yet. I suspect they are correct.

I’m glad you agree, Natasha! Sometimes they turn out to be some of the best meals anyway. 🙂
Some of my favorite meals at home were thrown together haphazardly. I too am an experimental chef! 😉 More often than not, we don’t plan ahead so experiments happen regularly in our household! Haha!
Experimental chefs definitely get to be creative! Haha
I am always struggling to find easy and healthy meal options as a vegetarian. I am glad this turned out delicious 🙂

The struggle can be real! 😀
I’ve got IBS, so I’ve got to eat gluten-free and it can be really tough sometimes when I’ve got to make something quickly with only the stuff I have on hand. Great idea you have here!
Thanks, Nicola! It definitely can be tricky.
That’s my kind of meal, even though I’m not gluten intolerant, it’s great to just be able to scratch in the cupboard and make something delicious on the fly
I agree, Michelle. Some of the best meals come together that way! 🙂
Yummzaa!! This dish looks so scrumptious.
Making an easy recipe yet healthy one is so hard for me. 🙁
I know what you mean, especially if you’re in a hurry to put something together. Hopefully something like this helps! 🙂
I def need to start watching the foods i eat. Sometimes i put a lot of junk in my body that isn’t good. I am def going to try this.
I know what you mean. It’s easy to not pay attention to the things you eat. Let me know if you do & what you think!
It looks like you have easily create a very yummy meal. I am lactose intolerant so I struggle as well.
I’m sorry to hear that, Joanna! Hopefully a meal like this is something you’d be able to enjoy. 🙂

You’re welcome, Katie! Let me know if you end up making it & what you think! 🙂
I used to hate cooking until my husband started to have a gluten allergy. It challenged me to make delicious food that taste just as good as the regular food he used to eat.
I’m very limited in what I can do in the kitchen, so easy recipes like this are always helpful! How does your husband like the new dishes you’ve been making?
I go cabinet hunting all the time to whip up some concoction when I’m hungry and in a pinch. Noodles and red sauce with or without meat is always a great choice! Looks yummy.
It’s definitely wise to always have noodles & sauce on hand. Sometimes I’ll buy extra, just in case!
GF is something I have been getting into more I do not have a health reason. But it is more of a lifestyle I am going for.
There are a lot more options these days and many of them taste really good!
I am always struggling to find easy and healthy meal for my family. I will defenitely try this even though I’m not gluten intolerant.
Let me know if you make it & what you think. This recipe will work with any kind of noodles, though I think the DeBoles & Mueller’s pastas are yummy!
Thanks for a great quick and easy recipe! I have tried to go GF before and it can be difficult – love that you can provide something easy and simple 🙂
Thank you, Victoria! It really can be difficult, so hopefully this recipe will help someone low on time and/or have limited ingredients.
This looks delicious. Unfortunately my work hours doesnt allow me to make this scrumptious ans healthy meals. I hope to change that though
Work hours can definitely make things difficult when it comes to trying to make healthy meals. Hopefully a dish like this is something you’ll be able to make if you ever have additional time. 🙂
You reminded me of my mum who’s also resourceful and conjures delicious food from what’s in the fridge! Except that she doesn’t record and share them with people! Now I’m gonna check out my fridge.
I’m very limited in the kitchen, so I like easy recipes! LOL Hope you find good stuff in your fridge! 🙂
This is great for my friend ! She has severe dietary restrictions!
I’m glad to hear that! 🙂
I love noodles and this is something i must try! Thank you for the recipe!

It can certainly be a challenge. You’re welcome! I hope it comes in handy!

Love it! I have several restrictions, so I know it can be tricky!
You don’t realize how tricky it is unless you or someone you’re close to has restrictions.
