Who Am I?

Hi! You’ve found my bio.

I’m Samantha, but most people call me Sam. I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I graduated from Wingate University in Wingate, NC in May 2011. I earned my B.A. in Communications, with a focus on print journalism. I love music, baseball, reading and writing (not always in that order). I also love pro wrestling and football.

I love pop culture and regularly quote TV shows & movies. Though active of various social platforms, I’m good at tweeting. Garth Brooks tweeted me “Happy Birthday” once and it’s one of the greatest achievements of my life (like, college graduation, birthday tweet from Garth Brooks, winning 7th grade writing contest). I also love pandas A LOT; my dream job is to be a panda nanny. Manatees are cool too.

I’ve always wanted to travel & have done some. Last year, I jokingly said that I wanted to start a travel blog about picky eaters (so pizza, basically). My sister has IBS & she could come along & eat chicken tenders. A former professor said that he thought I could be on to something about a travel blog for picky eaters. I might have found just the niche to stand out from other travel blogs. The thought was in the back of my mind for months. A few months later, my sister was told to cut dairy, gluten, & soy from her diet. As you can imagine, this is hard just from a grocery shopping standpoint. I began to realize that she’d have trouble finding things to eat at baseball stadiums, concert venues, & just about anywhere. A road trip to Atlanta in October proved this fact & it convinced me even more that I needed to pursue this blog.

I hope that with this blog, I can provide a guide of where to find food if you aren’t into weird things like caviar or grits (yeah, I said it) or have dietary concerns, all while seeing the world.
