We tend to avoid fast food in general, but sometimes it’s unavoidable. One of the establishments we avoided is Zaxby’s. We assumed that there wouldn’t be any options for Nikki. There’s a location nearby, so Nikki finally decided to look into any options that they may have for her.
Before we get to that, let’s talk about Zaxby’s. They launched in 1990 in Statesboro, GA. Since then, they have expanded across 16 more states, mostly in the Southern US. There are over 900 locations.
Zaxby’s are known for their sauces, especially their Zax Sauce. There are a variety of sauces ranging from Wimpy to Tongue Torch to Nuclear to Insane. If that’s too adventurous for you taste buds, you can find typical dressings like BBQ, Honey Mustard, and Ranch. The allergen menu has the sauces listed. Some contain eggs, dairy, wheat, and soy.
What to order at Zaxby’s if you have food sensitivities
Unsurprisingly, there are not many options that fit her dietary needs. However, there’s just enough for her to have a meal and a new place to go to. This will come in handy while traveling (when we’re able to do that again).
As always, we strongly recommend checking the allergen menu for yourself and/or asking someone at a particular location about your specific food sensitivities.
According to the allergen menu, the Grilled Chicken Sandwich contains gluten, soy, egg, and wheat. However, their crinkle fries do not contain any allergens. Nikki ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with lettuce and gave me her bun. She thought that the soy was in the bun since the fries aren’t cooked in them. It’s also likely that the bun is what contains soy, wheat, gluten, and dairy.
Nikki liked her food and would get it again in the future.

I ordered the Southern TLC Fillet Sandwich, hold the TLC. It was pretty good and would get it again for something different.

Having food sensitivities can make eating out difficult. Thanks for these tips.
You’re welcome, Astrid. Thanks for reading.
Zaxby’s doesn’t sound like it has many gluten-free options, but I’m glad Nikki could remove the bun and still enjoy her meal.
There weren’t many options at all, but it’s great to know that she has options.
Thank you for your review of the place. It is difficult to find good restaurants that cater to the need of people with food sensitivities. I am happy to know though that Nikki enjoyed her food.
Thanks for reading! It’s always nice to find new places.
Finding places that cater to food allergies is not at all easy. Super glad you all were able to get your stuff customized.
She was too, Ashlee. It’s great to have new places to add into the mix.
It’s difficult dining out when you have food allergies so it’s nice to see options out there becoming available from eateries!
Definitely, Catherine!
With food allergies it’s not easy finding a place that has everything you like. That wasn’t bad Nikki found something.
It gives her a chance to change things up, which is nice.
It can be difficult eating out with food issues, but looks like this place have you covered for sure xx
It is, so my sister is always glad to have a new place to go to.
